I am back warm after a very chilling night investigating the Buffalo Asylum for a 3rd and most likely final time. Id like to thank Renee,Christa,Tara, Kim and Pete for making this possible tonight. The asylum is by far one of the oldest castle like structures in buffalo and still one of the most haunted in NY State. I was glad I was able to show some new folks a little bit about this grandeur place. We went in and the activity seemed very low for awhile. But as we walked to a variety of areas things did not seem the same areas I once were able to go were now cinder blocked although I did get to see many new rooms I have not seen before such as a room full of desk, one of beds, another with old fashion street lamps. Right now the asylum is being restored and fixed up so there is fresh wood and materials occasionally around. We worked are way from the 3rd floor to the basement we did not find the catacombs as easy as the first 2 visits however upon coming to a split path there was a exist sign as always it is startling because its lit. We went to the right and I showed everybody the room with the bras and panties hanging up and homemade bows. We headed again past the exit sign and it just stopped humming which i felt was odd because the sign never stops. It was a sign that said to me something is there trying to make itself known. We then worked are way around the basement and up to the 4th floor where we came across the hallway with all the wheelchairs. In one of the hallways Tara and Kim said they seen a door move all by itself keep in mind there is no windows that were open nearby it just moved as if it was inviting us to go up to the attic or back to the basement. Further on there was a door that was closed and we opened it. I was the last one in back and i put my hand on it so it would not slam and startle everybody and strangely enough it felt like something strong was pushing on the door back at me. There was another area in the patient hallway where i heard a noise against the heating vent a couple taps which I also thought was odd. There were a few areas that were also very very COLD i mean just in certain doorways i noticed this. I heard many other things as well mumbles, footsteps, and a few other things that just did not add up in the walls of this castle. Kim and Tara said they heard running on the floor above us that was odd as well because I believe I heard the heavy thumping myself. I did notice that Tara got a lot of nice ghost shots on her camera including to back to back pictures with her digital of a face on the rafters in the attic. I even got some Ecto in the rafters and in the flash i could see the silhouette of a being up there. What made me in the first place take photos up there who knows just that I felt that what we are looking for may not be in front of us but rather above. Tara did get some good shots though in areas that seemed to be high in activity other times I visited there previously. Also Pete seen something as well which will be in his report. We all had a fun time. Sometimes its not always about how much activity you experience, ghost you see, or what you hear sometimes its a matter of saying I was there and conquered one of the most greatest haunts in NY State. Since restoration is in progress of the asylum this will probably be our last visit to this place unless for some reason the restoration is halted or whatever the case may be. Id like to conclude this report and say all of us experienced something.
Rick

NOTE: I promised everybody I would get a ghost to prove to the world that this place is haunted  and as you can see I kept my word. Our 3rd trip to here was a big  success so here we go!

Well, after sixteen years of waiting, I finally got to see the
interior of the Buffalo Psychiatric Center.  The building is/was
beautiful, the layout intriguing but confusing.  If you weren't
already crazy when you went in, you'd lose your mind trying to find
your way around.
We were able to check out floors 1 thru 4, one of the two attics,
and the basement.  Unfortunately, we were not able to explore the
catacombs below the basement.  Maybe there will be another time.
As far as paranormal activity, there wasn't a lot going on.  There
were a couple of times that we thought we heard voices, many times we
heard thumps and bangs from the floors above, but really nothing
else.  I'm sorry if I sound totally skeptic, but I was very
disappointed.  I was hoping and expecting to experience poltergeist
phenomena while there.  There may have been some activity, but if so,
the levels were low.  We'll have to see what turns out in the photos
we took.
Other than that, it was extremely cold.  But, it was still a lot
of fun and it was a real learning experience.  I am glad I was able
to go, and I enjoyed the evening, even with the cold.
Once again, I am sorry for sounding like a skeptic.  It was a
great evening and I hope that if we go again, more people will
accompany us.  It's an experience you should not miss, I may have
been disappointed, but I probably just had my hopes set too high.
It's also possible that all the negative energy in the asylum
effected me.
Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves and it was great to have members
other than Rick and myself go.
          Have a good night everyone,
                                 Pete

I was glad to have the opportunity to visit the asylum, though
there isn't much to report. There were noises, but unfortunately none
that couldn't be discounted as they were distant. However, for a
short while it did seem as if the noises were following us. The only
thing I personally experienced was the smell of perfume in one
particular spot for about a second. It is debatable since Pete told
me that Tara was wearing perfume, however, I was near her most of the
night and only noticed a scent in this one place. It was very cold
and I feel this was detrimental to the investigation, at least for
me. I get very tense when I am cold. If I had been more comfortable I
may have been more open to the paranormal. Hopefully the cameras
caught anything we might have missed. Tara, send me an email.

ME, I WAS ONLY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I HAD TO REMAIN OUTSIDE THE PERIMETER, BECAUSE MY SISTER WAS UNABLE TO GET THROUGH...LIKE THE REST OF THE CREW HAD ADVISED......I STAYED WITH HER SO THAT SHE WAS NOT TO BE ALONE...THAT IS IMPORTANT......ON MY SISTER'S DILEMMA. WELL...THAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU SPORT A LARGE FRAME...UNFORTUNATELY......THAT'S THE WAY IT GOES...THANK YOU TO THE GODS OF GENETICS...(HMMM).....HOWEVER, THE REST OF THE CREW. DID A GREAT JOB, AND FROM WHAT I CAN TELL......DID VERY WELL IN FINDING THE INTENDED.....LOOK TO THE MAIN FRAME FOR FEEDBACK AND WHAT RICK HAS TO ADVISE....

PEACE...RENEE

Hi! I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to post my Buffalo Asylum
trip experience. Here goes...

This was my first official investigation. I've done several things on
my own but in ordinary places with a small level of activity. I have
several pictures of orbs but I really wanted to get some ectoplasm
and experience some definite paranormal activity. When we approached
the Asylum my adrenaline started racing. It's a very foreboding
place. I was nervous about getting caught by the police. Once we got
inside it was by far the creepiest place I've ever been. I was
worried about getting caught, about other people in the building i.e.
homeless, drug dealers, etc. I was also anxious about the building
itself and making sure we were careful about where we stepped and so
forth since the building is in such horrible shape. I was quite
overwhelmed.

We did hear some noises around us at times and when we went up to the
attic, I was the last one on the stairs and there were definite
footsteps behind me coming up the stairs as well. I also managed to
get about 6 ectoplasm shots which I was thrilled about. I will send
them to Rick so he can post them on the site. There is one shot of a
very mean face that was right in front of my camera. Rick saw it when
my flash went off. That was pretty freaky.

All in all it was an amazing experience. Even though I really wanted
some more concrete evidence of the paranormal activity there I can
tell you because I was so overwhelmed about everything else, I'm sure
if a door would have slammed or we heard a scream I probably would
have fainted! Now I can say that I am disappointed that there wasn't
more activity. I would like to go again since I would feel more
comfortable with my surroundings. I'm just glad at this point that I
had an opportunity to go and see a part of Buffalo's history.
Thanks.
Tara
