Subj: [ParanormalGhostSociety] Tonight's Investigation Report Date: 9/23/2003 2:24:27 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: AngelOfThyNight@aol.com To: ParanormalBuffalo@yahoogroups.com , paranormalghostsociety@yahoogroups.com Well tonight we were able to fill a request for our member Valerie and of course another person I came in contact with so we were able to investigate the Summit Mansion and Summit Cemetery. It was a very eerie night as their were patches of fog out and heavy rain at times but I was so excited when I heard that the mansion may have an underground railroad that I had to check it so our adventure begins here: The Summit Mansion & Slave house We walked around the mansion 2 times and looked in some of the windows. The more we walked around this place the more I felt watched but it almost looked like they were trying to keep somebody in rather then out. All the windows are caged and even the upper floors were boarded. I felt a strong presence emanating from the entire mansion itself. It just doesn't feel right almost like something went wrong or is out of place. Anyhow we entered the main stairwell area nothing was unusual although much of the past seems to be left behind here. As right away we seen an old furnace, a fire place, kettles, tubs, old oak chairs, a rocker, and even a very old cooking stove. So right away we were able to access that this house was easily over 100 years old. We went to the back of the mansion working our way into various rooms all the floors were wooden planked. I did not like one of the bottom room floors it seemed as if something ghostly had been living here their was a rocker set up, chairs, a mattress, table etc this seemed to be a den but it was very organized as opposed for the rest of the mansion. It felt as if something was in that room specifically. We then found a stairwell in a garage area leading up to the second floor. Very steep it was but we managed to climb up and I was intrigued by the upstairs many rooms and halls twisted and turned. Very easy to get lost or come out into the same room from another hall way. I went alone by myself into one of the bedrooms and shut off my light to take a photo I got a feeling like something may have been in that room with me. I felt like something was in one of the darker corners eventually I caught up with the guys Jason had found the attic stairs which curved around so we eventually decided to go check out the attic. The attic probably was in better condition then the rest of the house. The windows in the attic caught my attention. As we left I was last in line leaving this area and I felt chased out or like hurry out of their so I knew perhaps whatever was here did not want to be bothered. As we entered a room we found a secret stairwell perhaps this was the underground railroad or should we say a hidden passage in the wall. We squeezed in it and ended up back on the second floor what looked like a closet was really a passage and perhaps this is where they hid the slaves at times. When we arrived downstairs it was alot cooler and in the next room over I could hear some movement perhaps like something brushing up against a wall or shuffling their feet we then entered the basement area. The basement was very old looking it had 4 different passages leading to rooms even parts of the ground were coming up. Nothing was unusual here just that when Mark shined the flashlight towards this one area it would go dim every single time. Mark and I entered one room and I felt totally embraced or as if something was moving around us fast as I was able to feel the coolness touch my face down to my hands back behind me. In one of these rooms their was a furnace and fireplace in the basement. This room I heard some noises thought I heard a thump upstairs as well. It could have been the rain outside the storm cellar doors but the thump I heard did not sound like it came from us. I had no luck finding an underground railroad passage in the basement. Mark told me he may have seen some Ectoplasmic energy in one of the back corners of the basement. Although I could feel for sure an entity with us down their us. As we spent most of our time in the basement area. We then headed back upstairs and left the basement. I never want to over stay my welcome as it seemed that the spirits here are very quiet but you can feel they are here no doubt on that. As we were leaving though something did happen that was very odd. There was a stack of wood next to the door. There was a strip of wood about 8 feet high that fell on Jason. This was a piece of wood leaning against the wall and it actually just pulled itself from the wall and hit him. At this point we left and I guess this is why construction crews trying to restore this mansion left. Whatever is here seems to not want company or rather is very playful. All in all the mansion was very low tone on the Hauntings not as hyped up as some make it sound but it was a part of history we were able to walk through and enjoy. Then we headed off to Summit Cemetery! On also another note I am planning a second
trip here even though since I am moving I can only visit each place once I
will make the acception here for various reasons. I know this mansion has
some secrets to it and I know if we are patient we can get some really
good apparition photos in the future. |
