At one time this very lake you see was a giant meadow which was used by the Mormons to corral their cattle. Other ranches eventually purchased property here where they would raise livestock using the meadow for grazing. Today the lake has three dams and was man made to supply the local towns with water.	Throughout the forest we have come across a plentiful supply of wild berries. Such berries were harvested and were ground up using a grinding rock by the Miwok tribe. Today the berries have somewhat reclaimed the meadows and forest surrounding the lake which could provide a food source for a Bigfoot like creature to sustain itself.

The Miwok village is a truly serene location full of dogwood trees, stream and even artifacts of the past. The teepee which I seen through the thick would serve as a good resting place as we had already been hiking for about four miles. Throughout the forest we also seen grinding rocks as well.	This is Bigfoot 101 for my younger viewers who aspire to become a cryptozoologist. We stopped at the teepee the foliage is very thick around us and its an ideal location for a creature like Bigfoot to go unnoticed. Surrounding the teepee are wild strawberries, ginger and gooseberries. All of them are quite edible for human consumption and many animals like them as a food source as well.

I call this section of Sly Valley the jungle due to is heavy foliage and plant life. Its flourishing with creeks, trees, flowers and wildlife. It would be no surprise why so many Bigfoot encounters occur back in here. Its quite easy for something to make there way down to to the deep valley floor then gather food and disappear right back into the brush.	One of my goals during my Bigfoot expeditions is to cover all aspects of nature.Their is not many paranormal sites that do this but it is very relevant to provide coverage of a region to its entirety. If a location can sustain animal and bird life then it surely can sustain a creature such as Bigfoot where sightings persist in this region even today.

This section of Jenkinson Lake is very muddy as geese are wandering its shores. I decided to stop at the lake bed to search for any impressions in the soft mud. It really did not turn out to be a great track finding spot as I had hoped but I was able to get really close to the geese for some good photography.	At one time before the meadow was flooded into a lake homesteads, saw mills, ranches, corrals etc use to reside here. Not much is left of these sites but a few foundations including this old chimney which rises out of the water. Much of the history has been erased due to Lake Jenkinson's rising waters.

One of this most beautiful attractions found within the valley is this waterfall which is a force of nature. People who often visit here swim in the pool below as its relatively deep. This would be the spot we had a picnic lunch at and about the half way point of our expedition.	Not to far from the waterfall a fallen rotting log was covered with thousands of termites. Although many do not realize it the insects play a major role in the ecosystem here. The termites break down the log eventually providing fertile mulch for future plants and trees to grow. It is a never ending process and a really cool video of how a colony of termites conduct themselves.

I nicknamed this place Hobbits Den which appears to be a collapsed entrance leading down into a hole below the tree itself. I have no idea how deep the hole goes or if it might lead to a cave system since it is technically at the bottom of a rocky hill. But if there is a cave system in the region it is possible that Bigfoot would utilize it.	This evidence could go either way as I understand a skeptics point of view as well as to the possibility that something large may have created the slide mark heading to the lake. The slide mark is a bit wider then my foot and travels for about 59" so whatever made it had very long legs to create it. Whether you realize it or not animals including Bigfoot can slip and fall just as with any human being.

I think in this video I ate a big to much sugar lol as I am pumped up as we are hiking on the primitive side of Lake Jenkinson. The sun is just starting to set the foliage here is very thick much like a jungle is and flourishing with wild life.	I found this impression in the woods off the trail at least two toes are visible the roots may have prevented it from fully forming. The one strange thing about the track is the scrape marks found in the dirt which could have been caused by something with toe nails or maybe even a bear with large claws. It is really hard to tell thus we will document it here.

This uprooted tree gives off an optical illusion that it is a bear standing up or other animal. Allot of times when the lake rises it submerges the trees on the bank causing them sometimes to fall over into the water. I always try to have a little fun on my hikes and this was just one of them moments.	These are not very good impressions but whatever came through here in the mud did leave some fairly large toe impressions. Maybe the ground was a little more solid at the time this would explain why only some of the toes made impressions where others did not.

This is one of the three dams located within the valley. Further below this dam is a place called Hazel Valley known for its early ranches and saw mills in the 1800s. The dam is over 700' across and due to its existence is how the lake came to be. This video shows us walking the road which traverses across the dam.	This memorial is dedicated to the man who made this project possible. It took nearly 30 years for the water reclamation project to transpire. Today the lake is a boating and fishing destination. But it also provides many of the local communities with a source of water. Notice there are some punks climbing all over the monument I may have not found Bigfoot but I did find its offspring lol.

Tammy secretly was filming me here as I was taking photos and carefully examining tracks. If I only took my shirt off I may just have looked like the real thing and became famous like the rest of these idiots who think everything is Sasquatch lol. A little humor made the trip go a long ways it was a long hike.	The sun has gone down and we just made it back to the truck. We spent the entire day hiking up here and now its time to cash in on the rewards by asking everybody what they thought. I did a few minor calls to make a last ditch effort to hear the screams that are often heard in the valley. We would conclude Sly Valley for now but someday have plans to return again.
