The Silver Springs Lodge was built many years ago I been told in the late 1940s to 1950s as at one time it was one of the only hotels in the area. I do know it was operational in the 1960s as a member wrote me and told me that at that time this place was a paradise. The hotel was built on Indian burial ground and eventually it became abandoned around 1980. The hotel reminds me alot of a motel 6 it has two floors, many of the rooms have connecting suites and their is four buildings. The buildings are coupled by a concrete bridge and age shows as the concrete is splitting in half.  The hotel has been abandoned now for over twenty years and the owner is aware that it is haunted.

If you ever pictured hell this building would be it as many of the glass sliding doors are smashed, broke and their is glass all over. Railings in the upper balconies are all bent or missing. Some rooms have rats in the walls, holes, smashed bathroom mirrors. But with over 200 rooms every room is different. You will go inside one room and it has carpeting like its brand new then you can go into other rooms that are stripped complete with only graffiti messages left behind. It would appear that cultist, vagrants, and kids go up here for various reasons. Some rooms have such bad vandalism that the metal frames in the ceiling are bent as if something came through with a sledge hammer and beat everything to a pulp.

Here is what has happened through the years here although some of it could be hearsay but some of it is not based on our finds in our first investigation. The doors here open and close by themselves. Some doors lock on their own and unlock moments later. Their is movement in some of the rooms and we are not talking rats but rather foot steps creaking up stairs when your downstairs. Some of the rooms are very cold while other rooms you feel watched in. Rumors have it that many people have been found just dangling from being hung to death. So this is not exactly the nicest place. As a very thorough paranormal investigative group we were very extensive our first trip here. We went into every hotel room except for two we could not enter into so for all we know those rooms could have contained a ritual room, a body, something physical or an entity that did not want us their. But this hotel has alot of secrets to it.

Over the years many have reported the Hauntings here and many kids who went in here to explore seen terrifying apparitions in the hotel. We did not necessary sense evil here but I can say that this is a place that holds a deeper darker secret. I mean the property is very overgrown, foreboding and even the giant deep empty pool still sits further back. The lodge still has the restaurant, bar, lobby, and its offices in a separate building.

Their is talk that they may turn this place into a nursing home but its highly unlikely after all the place has suffered neglect for over twenty years. It probably is cheaper just to rebuild it. It also seems that the lodge served as an apartment as some rooms had a smaller kitchen installed in them. The keepers suite was very large perhaps two hotel rooms made into or rather where the caretaker stayed.

My psychic impression of the lodge is that rapes, murders, and other bad things have happened here in the past. I can feel it but at the same time I can feel some happiness here as I close my eyes and picture kids laughing around the pool or a couple on their honeymoon making love for the first time. This is the type of place it was and since Silver Springs is nearby which is a theme park and one of the largest springs in the world with glass bottom boats it is pretty obvious why this lodge was built in the first place.
