Showers Lake is just one of the many other pristine lakes found within this basin and one of the largest wildflower meadows in all of the Sierras. However due to its higher elevations their can be snow up here going into late Spring sometimes even summer. My first expedition in the Showers Lake area taught me allot that its important to be prepared for anything as their was in some areas 8' snow drifts and the trails were buried so we had to find the lake without any sort of assistance at all.

The lake itself when the snow melts can be seen from the Pacific Crest Trail which does traverse the sierras and is one of America's most scenic trails. I have hiked over the past few years on the PCT or portions of it and their is allot to be scene such as lakes, cliffs, waterfalls, creeks, rivers, beautiful peaks, rock formations and especially nature.

When your climbing over Red Ridge or your in one of the expansive meadows you will see geological landmarks like
Round Top Peak, Elephants Back, Red Lake Peak, Little Round Top Peak and Caples Lake jut to name a few. If you decide to start to your trek to Showers Lake you can do so from the Carson Pass however their are other ways you can get to it. I just happen to adore the Carson Pass because that is where some of the most beautiful scenery resides in the Sierra range but that its just a personal opinion of mine being an avid explorer.

Once you make it over to Red Lake you have a wide variety of places you can visit within these meadows is a lake basin where the Truckee River flows with trout and numerous lakes can be visited.  Dixon Canyon is one of the major fissures found in this region which is very scenic from both ends even when it is all covered in snow. Other areas within the basin are Scott's Lake which is upcoming very soon,
Round Lake, Lake Dardanelles, Meiss Lake & Homestead and Four Lakes. I do have plans to visit four lakes but it will be a totally off the trail ordeal since they are a bit hidden in the ElDorado National Forest.

The flowers here seem to be glowing full of Lupines, Mountain Pennyroyals, Paint Brush,Yellow Mule Ears and Scarlet Gilias! I mean there is always something beautiful to see here winter or summer. All the lakes in the region are pristine the river tributary for the Truckee is clear 6' to the bottom you can see the trout swimming around. Its a very lush land full of many patches of forest and offbeat paths that go to some of the regions major peaks. As a cryptzoologist I have to see since life flourishes here and their is major sources of fresh water this area tends to be a bigfoot hot zone for these type of creatures to thrive at. Especially during the winter months where the snow prevents hikers from getting back here due to avalanche risk and because of the other dangerous such as freezing to death. But being we run a society that is an all weather group we take on everything so what makes this a special addition to our site is the winterscape first part of this expedition. So really it is a treat for our viewers as our project in this lake basin is coming to full circle.

I have read on numerous sites that Showers Lake is one of the most beautiful south of
Lake Tahoe. Our first expedition to it we found it under a sheet of ice and snow. But the scenery alone surrounding the area is gorgeous with volcanic rocks, rigid snow covered peaks and cliffs. Just as Red Peak is full of stunning varieties of colored reddish rock and believe Round Lake are these black cliffs which can be seen from various hikes into this tucked away basin. If your really daring North of Showers Lake is a beautiful waterfall which is more prominent in the late Spring when the snow melts.

The hike from Carson Pass is a total of 10 miles with 1538' of vertical hiking you literally almost have to climb Red Peak to get down into the basin which contains meadows, forest and is surrounded by mountains 360 degrees. You can even at times even see Lake Tahoe afar and hike up over the sierra crest so its definitely a unique little gem for those who are avid about the great outdoors. For me however I also have to take into consideration that certain lake basins or regions within the Sierras seem to withhold a much bigger secrets and may have for hundreds maybe thousands of years. Some refer to it as Yeti, Bigfoot, Sasquatch, America's Great Ape and the native Americans of the sierras called this tribe the Si Te Cah sometimes Pahi-zoho
. Another war took place occurred hundreds of years ago in Giants Cave in Lovelock Nevada so make sure you also check that out. So war between the natives did occur not just in the Sierras but also many parts of Nevada which is why I love living in this region as its full of oddities.

There are also many other names associated with this creature but according to many of the native American local tribes they tell tales about hairy giants in abundance in this region in prehistoric times. During those times these giants resorted to cannibalism stealing many of the villages women and smaller children to consume. I can only imagine how fearful the natives were to have to share the forest with giants who basically were at their mercy. Eventually the natives in this region would join arms included other tribes to force these big hairy creatures deeper into the wilderness and higher sierras. So when you look at our continuous work and research keep in mind I push our boundaries by visiting some of the most remote and highest parts of the sierras. This is why we have such great success in seeing and track this monster. The Red Peak Showers Lake Regions seems to be a hotspot being that tributaries flow through massive meadows full of deer, berries and clean water all things for a primate like creature to take advantage of. So our research and our work is ongoing even if these creatures or as the natives referred to them as tribes exist they exist in very low numbers. On occasion they might leave a track behind or you might hear vocalizations in this region. However during my first expedition we nearly had three of these giants surround us banging on trees, growling, grunting and making primate like sounds to scare us off. Even for my son who has seen this creature and found its evidence he was a bit scared being up at Showers Lake in the winter. We were alone and we walked into its territory despite their sheer power more or less they made a ruckus to try and scare us away. Instead we continued to walk deeper into the unknown and it paid off with a beautiful track we found in the snow. Something has to be making these tracks, banging on the trees and making gorilla like sounds in this lake basin. Thus its plausible to say that this elusive cryptid does use the basin as a means to continue its survival.

To even add a bit of sweetness to this region not to far away from Meiss Lake one of the warmest of lakes in the high sierras is the Meiss Homestead which you will pass by if your heading up to any of the locations found nearby. This is the real house on the prairie ordeal nearly a homestead and barn at nearly 10k tucked away along a creek with large meadows where at one time the Meiss family raised cattle here in the 1800's. Some of the old fence post still remain from the 1800's and it is a historic site. So if your not much into the strange you definitely will be into the history with a view here.  I mean most of you can probably speculate that during that time period this area was literally untouched by humans thus the Meiss family probably had some pretty good Bigfoot stories one can only wonder!

All in all when I add locations like Showers Lake to our site they all are very special to my heart but also to the viewers we inspire. Were not your typical paranormal group we tend to bring everyone a variety of pictures, audio, evidence, videos and other special editions you will not see on other sites. I try to log all the nature on our trips and give our viewers an inside look at to what its like to adventure in bigfoot country. So you get it all the wildlife, scenic pictures, views of the forest, team shots etc etc. We want others to not observe our journeys but to be a part of them and to follow our amazing research that we have conducted in the Sierra Nevada's. It has been nothing short of stellar including this addition to our site which is why we continue to do what we do we do it for all of you. In my opinion the Showers Lake area may be in within my favorite top 10 places I have ever done Scientific Bigfoot research at not just because of its beauty its because despite the wars this lost tribe has gone into hiding watching hikers like me pass by and never even knowing it! We give you Showers Lake basin of the elusive giants of the amazing vast Eldorado Forest! It

This segment is my spoken report on the Bigfoot experiences I had up at a place called Showers Lake during our first expedition. It discusses strange vocalizations, Bigfoot lore, evidence, tree banging and the dangerous we encountered while hiking over Red Peak into this remote lake basin. It also talks about three minutes of sheer terror as two to three snarling, growling and large creatures moved on in trapping us against Showers Lake.
