Yesterday was probably one of our biggest investigations since I have moved the organization here to Florida. But it also was a very important area we covered since we probably will be visiting a few times in the next couple years. I had a pretty big day yesterday as I spent sometime before the investigation investigating some Bigfoot Tracks up in the Blue Springs Area,
Going to a picnic and playing football, then turning around and hiking it was probably more adventure then I had standing out in the hurricanes lol.
But finally after a few weeks of trying planning this trip the dream came true. Rather then take
a lot of photos at each plays I tried to leave things to the imagination since each place has
a lot of ghost stories, legends, history etc in the future will be doing our thorough investigations where will split our team up when we grow in size etc. We did
a lot of places and now I am able to bring them all to you.
Last night we investigated in the following order the James Ormond Tomb Park,
Dummett Sugar Mill, Harwood House & The Fairchild Oak, Fairchild Plantation, Ormond Indian Burial Mound, and finally the Nocoroco Indian Village & Tomoka State Park which has a very sites to see. The investigation went very smooth no problems whatsoever and I was able to get very close to each
Archaeological site. The only downside we had is we spent a great amount at the end of the night trying to find the Mount Oswald plantation which we could not find so we will make another attempt in the future as there is so much history to the area.
Last night also marked the fact that we had a new investigator join with us his name is Steve and he was a pretty big help to have him. When you do places of this size whether it would be trails, woods etc you really need others who can help out so it was nice that he knew a little bit about the area and helped us on the investigation.
We set off in the later part of the evening and our journey begins here!
James Ormond Tomb Park
We parked and got out and amazingly this place was very dark I could not see much. We ended up walking to a dead end. Rumor has it that there are trails but we could not find them due to the hurricanes
a lot of trees were blocking things. The park was extremely patchy in cold spots some of them were just in certain areas.
We hiked around in search of the tomb eventually crossing over the parking lot and I got ahead of the group walking on a hilly area and seen the tomb just sitting atop a mound in the middle of some giant trees. It was quite odd and keep in mind there are no ruins in the park but at one time yes there was a plantation here.
I stood on top of the tomb seemed to be a lot of energy here this is something you learn to feel when you been doing this awhile. The energy around the tomb was greater and I could feel a
presence here. Eventually Steve and Amanda caught up to we snapped a few photos then started to head back to the car.
The one thing perhaps that bothered me here most was the woods and eventually I will hike on in them but I felt very watched not an uncomfortable feeling just as if something was near the tree line watching. Eventually we left and were lucky we did because a truck pulled on in there after us.
Amanda said she felt this was one of the more haunted places in the Ormond
Beach Area. We did head on off to the Dummett Sugar Mill Ruins.
