Old Rest

We arrived at old rest near a giant mansion with Christmas lights, wreaths, a giant tree there was nobody out since it is also for the rangers to stay at. But none the less it was heartwarming to see Christmas in the middle of the wilderness.  Liz and I walked up a very steep series of stone steps they were narrow and covered in ice.

The first area we arrived at was a stone hut of some kind. Seconds before we arrived at it to the left about 150 feet away I seen something very large that moved was it a bear maybe however this creature was very loud and close by. There were not growls, or grunts just heavy walking like something was hiding behind some trees. After awhile we hiked nearby to an old foundation and well.

While we were standing inside the foundation and looking at the well Liz heard running this time on our right was it the same animal or unknown creature? I believe so and I do not think it was a bear since in a matter of a minute the movement was 150 feet to the left then it was a 150 feet right of us. So we had movement around us not only movement but I was quite surprised at the amount of entities around us perhaps early settlers of the land, Indian spirits or maybe they followed us from previous areas that evening.

We headed back and the noises in the woods stopped but we noticed that many of the apparitions followed us all the way back to the car and were all standing on the steps maybe to say there goodbyes or perhaps we really caught there curiosity. But old rest turned out to be quite active as well. Then finally we saved the best place for last the Salamanca Erie Train Station.

Last stop in  Red House Indian Trail. I was surprised by how many spirits were around there since it is a very busy central spot in the national forest. I showed Rick all of the foundations I had photographed a few weeks before. He shot and got a lot of good stuff. I was a little nervous as I heard an animal walking around us on the left and then on the right nearly seconds later. Maybe coyotes? I don’t know but I felt like prey.
