The Old Ocklawaha Bridge Cemetery was used by the First Baptist Church Of Ocklawaha which sits on a lake full of scenic beauty. The church and the cemetery are separated by quite a distance perhaps a few miles. The cemetery has recently changed names to Waldena Cemetery. Perhaps because now its a public cemetery rather then just used by The First Baptist Church Of Ocklawaha many years ago.

The cemetery has at least three civil war soldiers buried here and dates back to the later part of the 1800s. The rod iron gothic fencing around a few gravestones in the cemetery indicates its age here. Another thing that stands out here is the fact that many children are buried here. Most of them are teens and fairly recent maybe some hunting or four wheel accidents possibly assuming that this is a heavy forested town the cemetery surrounded by the Ocala National Forest. The cemetery also has dozens of strange mounds within it composed of sand and dirt. They are not anthills we did kick a few of them quite odd.

Another reason I chose to investigate this cemetery is that very recently around Sept. 2004 there was a major bigfoot sighting where two very large brown bipedal creatures were saw walking into the woods. There is only one ranch near the cemetery far off into the woods and so basically the entire cemetery is secluded.

The ranch has some cows which graze along the cemetery kind of odd but its very scenic.  Looking into the cows eyes you can almost see that there very startled like they have seen more then what the locals have just roaming them woods at night. Whether its ghost, bigfoot, or green men from mars there is no doubt in my mind that something strange does not occur around here at night.

But this 1800s cemetery will give you chills down your spine there is a feeling of unrest in the air here.
