Known as at one time Mt. Arat Burial Park this
cemetery was merged with Cedar Hill to become Daytona Memorial Gardens.
This part of the cemetery is very large the one thing that stands out is
the Spanish looking Mausoleum. I like to call it the wall of the dead
cause that is what this building is. Then their is another very large
building that looks like a Greek temple and that is just another fancy
Mausoleum with marble floors.
As being a part of Cedar hill their is a couple confederate soldiers buried here, a politician, a baseball hall of famer and even a racecar driver. This side of the cemetery is much more different it has an elegance about it with a Zen garden, bridges, streams and even a giant pond which has is surrounded by marble crypts. Their sort of is a feeling of displacement their are trails that go off into the woods and the hills are not as steep but part of the cemetery does sit on a angle. Their is alot of different gardens including this giant statue with lions surrounding it made out of stone. Their are globe lamps surrounding the walk ways within the cemetery and it is just one of these places you do not forget. Unlike Cedar Hill it seems the amount of faiths here varies as Cedar Hill seems basically all Catholic. Their are various Mausoleums here, many crypts and even a giant area where one can pray. Other then that I do not have anymore information. Most graves here start from the early 1900s and up as opposed to Cedar Hill across the street being much older.
