In 1997 the Marion Ocala Florida Veterans Memorial Park and is dedicated to the veterans from all wars from 1610 to the present time. The park almost 9 acres has many World War II monuments. Some of the most notable ones are memorials for the Greenville Aviation School, Medal Of Honor Awardees, Merchant Mariners, Veterans of Specific European and Pacific Engagements. Certain federal holidays like Veterans and Memorial Day many commemorative activities are held.

The park has a Gazebo, Department of Defense Monuments, Bandstand, a seating area for the Veterans Memorial Court of Flags which has all 50 US State Flags. Almost all the memorials are red and granite etched bricks, wall plaques, stone benches. The park is always expanding and has a building where ribbons, t-shirts, hats, books, pins and stickers are sold. With that revenue it generates more funding for expansion of the park.

Their is a real sense of strong energy here but long before this area was a park it was the site of Fort King or at least close to it.  Their is alot of history to the land in Ocala so many stories you here about the burning of downtown all the way to the Seminole wars. But this park almost looks like a cemetery with all its memorials and benches with epitaphs that it is no wonder that a ghost or two does not roam its memorials in hopes of being recognized.
