Subject: Our Return Explorations To Kongsberg & Wolfcreek Aug. 27th 2011
Date: 9/10/2011 9:20:33 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time
From:LordOfThyNight@aol.com

I had promised to take my kids hiking up in this region as its an area I never get bored with. They had just returned home from summer break and so I wanted to share with them an adventure into the Kongsberg and Wolfcreek areas. Unlike ghostly investigations Bigfoot explorations require allot more work, patience and time. If we were going to find anything we would need all eyes set onto the woods.

In a way this would be some of our last visits to these locations prior to winter. When winter sets in here these areas are offlimits which may be the reason why Bigfoot is found up here. The amount of seclusion never ceases to amaze me and for me its a hop, skip and a jump.

I generally enjoy to go on picnics in the woods sit somewhere near a stream meditate and spend time with my family. Over the last few years I have gotten them involved in our research and they seem to enjoy it. I know that at least I can count on them to hike with me and help me search for the strange. In a way hiking and Bigfoot searching is allot of fun.

The thing is with most Bigfoot researchers is there in ability to miss simple clues like a broken limb....or a track up on a hill or even some hair samples caught on a tree branch. Its easy to miss these things when your just hiking along steadily.

I had already been to these areas a couple times offroading so I knew the kids were in for a treat. Every father in this country should take their sons up to the sierras you wont regret the experience. Personally myself every place I go is just awesome their isn't any other word to describe it.

The other reasoning behind returning is that I have found solid tracks in these areas. Nobody can say for sure if its Bigfoot but more then often large barefoot tracks in the middle of Timbuktu often are a bit suspicious no matter where its at.

It was a nice day out blue skies no clouds or breeze. Some of the best weather I have encountered has been in the Carson Valley area and when it gets to hot you just shoot on up to the national forest. In this case all of us packed are bags with dinner and all our gear leaving for Kongsberg in the morning then our plan would be to visit Wolfcreek a second time prior to sundown.

Kongsberg
Exploration 3

This time instead of exploring Silver Mountain and Creek area I decided to hike around the mountains across from it. Both sides of Ebbetts pass are full of old dirt mining roads, hiking trails, canyons, cliffs, rock formations and lush forest.

I ended up taking a rugged road to the right that went right up into the mountains. My real hope was to locate some of the more well known mines that once serviced Kongsberg. However many of the mines sit back for miles deep up in the woods. I did not find the mines but we were close ill explain further below.

We found this road that went right up the side of a mountain following it along a steep grade. The road you could tell was an old wagon mining road. After so many years of hiking we generally stick to many of the old pioneer roads wherever we explore.

The road was rugged and it dead ended at these large rocks. When we started hiking on up the road it went from a road to a very narrow trail that went right on up into this deep canyon. At the bottom of the canyon was a creek which is pretty common in the sierras. There are so many lakes and creeks found in those mountains.

The trail in some areas was completely washed out thus it made our hike more difficult. The trail at sometimes follows these canyons that are two to three hundred feet below. When there is no trail the only place to go is along the side of a steep mountain and hold on for dear life lol.

The sierras in the winter suffer from avalanches and heavy rains so the first part of our hike would be the result of these things founded on the trail. I believe this trail was the Pacific Crest which is one of the best in America or rated one of the best I should say. It is because it takes you for miles past meadows, cliffs, volcanic sites and a wide variety of fauna.

By no means is this a maintained trail even as popular as it is only avid hikers will take this journey. Further back as we made our way for about a half of mile the trail left the canyon and finally went up into the high sierras.

There were parts of the trail that had fallen trees and another part of the trail that was so overgrown that it looked as if the trail ended. I remember bending down real low and going under a bunch of trees only to come out to an open area where the trail split 3 different ways. More then likely the other ways probably lead to those mines that once served Kongsberg.

I was very much ahead of everyone there was a small creek that trickled right over the trail and down around the bend came two avid hikers. If I were to stay on the trail I believe it would take me to the otherside of Mount Raymond. For those of you who are not aware I had a pretty interesting experience at Mount Raymond as you can access the Pacific Crest Trail from there as well.

I had no plans on hiking 10 miles but I did want to stay in the Kongsberg area to search for anything strange. Eventually to my right there would be a giant hillside full of trees and flowers. While to my left there was a giant hill leading down into a very overgrown forested canyon. Then off to my left across the canyon was these giant rocky cliffs while behind me great views of Silver Mountain which btw still had some visible snow back and around its peak.

The trail eventually widened more like an old wagon road and we found some quartz. The kids and I broke one of the rocks and out came a giant crystal. My kid was so happy about finding his first actual crystal and for me those pieces of quartz meant there probably was a mine very nearby just something to look into if I decide to explore this region of Ebbetts Pass further.

I did not find anything out of the ordinary perhaps one track but it was very old and just not worth filming.  I found that the area around Silver Creek and Mountain seem to be the focal point of any Bigfoot activity if there is any. This may be the fact that the terrain is much more harsh behind Silver Creek which means less hikers and areas man can access. However the Pacific Crest Trail is more active with hikers, backpackers, campers, cross country skiers etc etc

On our way back we almost lost sites of the trail parts of it are overgrown while other parts are washed out. Without proper all fours climbing its very easy to go off a cliff or roll 200 feet down a trail. So we had to reroute our hike a bit to make sure it was safe for everyone.

Getting back to the truck was a sadness only because I really wanted to explore a bit more. But this is a big area your dealing with miles of trails, canyons and mountains surrounding this location. We will return again probably next year only difference is next year will camp up at Kongsberg and our Bigfoot research will definitely intensify.

I did notice that lately there has been a lack of animals in this region its possible bear or hell even Sasquatch might be stocking up for the winter months. Generally I see deer and other sorts of animals but out in Kongsberg I never see no animals not on Silver Mtn. nor across from it how strange.

I always said to others its not getting in places that are difficult its getting out. I realized that the road I parked on was very narrow. Pioneer roads generally are barely big enough for a car let alone a truck. I would have to back the truck down the road for a few hundred feet along a 200 foot drop off. You can watch the video in our multimedia section of our updates. You can hear how scared Tammy was my tires came within two inches of the edge and well obviously I am here to tell my story so I did pull it off.

Either that or its do not drive at all just sit up there scared and what I do requires you to be fearless especially if you want to find solid Sasquatch evidence. Tracks are going to be found at high elevations.....these hominoids are going to be living in dens......and there is no shortage of hard work that goes into finding what little evidence these cryptids leave behind.

Our hikes in the sierras are a mix of events all the way from offroading to camping all the way to hikes on and off the trail. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of evidence on this trip but I have to admit out of all the hikes I have done this trail gets a perfect 10 if not better. Its extremely secluded and there are parts of the trail the forest is so thick the sun is blocked out. This leads me to believe that anything could hide back here and perhaps never be found.

I would like to return to the area many more times eventually try to see if we can go down into the mines that are found miles up in the mountains. There is no way to access these places other then on foot and over the last 150 years most of them have became overgrown by foliage. However I believe that the mines are very relevant to the investigation so if someone wants to show me some of them in this region that would be great as I enjoy working with others to achieve the same goals.

Our next destination would be Wolf Creek which is a fairly short distance drive from Kongsberg. However rather then following Silver Creek your following instead the Carson River and Wolf Creek. This is another interesting area with a very different type of terrain almost prehistoric looking unlike Kongsberg.
