Tonight was a nice warm evening clear out and being that I live so close I finally was able to get around to investigating the Henry A. Deland Mansion. Wow what a beautiful part of history and architecture as well.  I wanted to bring you though one of the older places in Deland and a place that I could return to over time and do multiple stories on. I set off around 10pm tonight and walked down the dark road leading to the mansion in the historical section which is full of many mansions some 3 floors in height. On my way a pit bull barked and that was probably more startling then the ghost but moments later I arrived at the front gate and so my adventure begins here.

Henry A. Deland Mansion

I arrived here at the main gates and this time was a little skeptical since last time I visited here at night someone was sitting in the parking lot in a van but to my surprise tonight seemed quite so far. If you noticed I said so far. Just to be on the safe side I walked directly to the back of the mansion which has gardens, a gazebo, orange trees etc. The mansion is fully restored and when walking along it you could sense or rather see someone living here so I felt uncomfortable at first taking photos despite the fact that the mansion is only inhabited at night by ghost you sort of expect a person to come on out yelling at you from inside.

But it was pretty quiet although when I approached the back of the mansion a loud twig snapped behind the historical society which is a newer building that sits on the Deland Mansions property. I knew at this point right away that I startled something at this point on I knew I was not alone. I focused the investigation at the Memorial gardens area and the gazebo which has a memorial of the famous citrus farmer Lou Gim Gong.

I then walked over to some tables and stone benches it was cooler back here I noticed but very uncomfortable despite the area being well lit. I then worked my way around the mansion and back just taking my time focusing and observing the area. I then walked back around to the front and thought wait a second....I turned around and noticed a field behind the mansion with some trees it would be eerie to most people so I walked past the wood fence to the moss covered trees.

The field was quiet It was nice looking at the moon and relaxing.  I did not sense much although some of the more wooded or heave foliage areas gave me a feeling like something was watching me but where that's how I felt. I walked back behind the mansion threw the wooden gate and heard behind me a giggle of a lady. It could have came from one of the houses in the area who knows but the direction that it did come from was the field so at this point it almost seemed like the investigation was becoming quite active. 

At this point things really started to pick up as I heard running in the memorial gardens, a twig snapped and something was moving. It was heavy and this happened a few times in a 5 minute time span as if whatever it was had been moving behind me when my back was turned. I felt fairly overwhelmed and the nice gardens now became a place full of activity like a storm manifesting over the water. That storm arrived. Something loud snapped in the field behind the mansion it was crisp and heavy as if something followed me from the field.

I walked on the side of the house and captured a mass of blue energy it was visible to the eye rather it seemed like I captured it on accident since I snapped the photo when walking to the front of the mansion. When I arrived in the front I noticed the attic light was on this to me seemed weird. Last time I came by it was not on and light pierced the loose tiles on the roof. I walked at least 4 to 5 times back and forth in front of the mansion including on the porch just reading various plaques. 

On 3 occasions I visited the historical society on the property as well a much newer building but the activity was not to high here but still it gave me a break from the mansion itself. At this point on my 3rd time standing in front of the historical society a group of people came outside from a near by house just staring at me. It made me more uncomfortable then anything since there was 8 people just watching probably wondering what I was doing then I heard a cop car around the block but guess what? It was not for me so guess my night was not to unlucky.

I did this time walk back to the mansion for one last shot at capturing or seeing something strange and found a very playful entity. I seen something jump out towards me in the flash it was a round mass and in the same area I caught energy before. To my surprise the entity stayed in front of me swirling around dancing in the flash it was real warm and pleasant. Then I reached my hand out to touch it and some prick in a sports car pulled in the parking lot shined his car lights on me and took off. I scared whatever I was working with away unfortunately.

It took me a long time to building trust here but I learned rather quickly that whatever haunts the property does not like car lights or alot of people around. But I also learned that whatever is here tends to stay in one area mainly. I then said my goodbyes and concluded the investigations.

In conclusion to the investigation it turned out real well accept for the punks. I noticed during the investigation something was following me, occasionally there would be a cold spot, branch break, or even a feeling of something standing in the window looking threw the drapes. I had to work fairly hard to capture anything here but moments before leaving things became quite active. I do believe the entities I dealt with tonight are actually Henry A. Deland or the citrus farmer. But this place turned out to be much more active then I thought and has the potential for a second visit in the future.
