Girard Cemetery which is 10 acres in size was formed in the 1861 and is said to contain some of the most unusual stones in in the state of PA. For example one stone was a dog sitting on a chair waiting for his master. That stone was stolen and returned to Girard which now is in the Borough Office so it can be kept for display. Also when the Presbyterian Church was enlarged an old burial ground was found and the bodies were moved here.  Across the street is another cemetery which is not as as strange or large. Also this is the resting place of William Constantine Culbertson a politician of Pa who was buried here in 1906s.

The reason why we investigated it was so we could see for ourselves some of the strange stones. But I also read a little about the history of Girard how it was involved in the under ground railroad movement and about all its rich history. It is the type of town that has parades, little events, antique shops, museums even a monument in the town square which tells the story of how the town came to be. The town square is supposed to have the Dan Rice baby buried beneath which the stone is also in this cemetery. There is even a custom in the town that goes along with this.

Is this cemetery haunted? Yes very much so these ghost are not afraid to show up on film. The older section seems more haunted though and the rod iron gives it a hauntingly feel. We really enjoyed going here and I am happy to bring my friend Cher a story on this place which was her hometown.
