This cemetery once served the soldiers who were involved with the Pyramid Lake War and those who were peacekeepers of the Pony Express. Most of the graves would be relocated and transferred to Lone Mountain Cemetery. Meanwhile the Buckland family choose to have there family buried within this secluded burial ground. Just up the road from this cemetery is Buckland Station which served not only the soldiers but those emigrants passing through on the California trail. In this clip I share urban legends and myths surrounding this place of the dearly departed. Also notice at around 1:06 seconds you can hear what sounds like a ghostly dog barking really close to the recorder. Our recorders only pick up sound within 10' so we do think this is an actual EVP of a ghostly dog.

These ruins you see off into the desert total over 20 buildings which were all once part of one of the most expensive military forts of this time period. The fort was built after the Pyramid Lake War to continue to keep the peace due to conflicts between the white settlers and natives in the region. We will bring better footage during the day time in the future. The state of NV has masonry work done on these ruins each year so that they maintain there structure so that they are not lost in the sands of time.

No matter where you walk or traverse there is history surrounding the Fort Churchill site. These ruins tell a tale about young men who lived there years here fishing, playing cards, performing at the theater and drinking whiskey. Amongst the dark ruins an eerie feeling that you are not alone as with history comes haunts. We did capture within these ruins some EVPs and had other strange incidents occur all within a fort that at one time rose above the rest only to be diminished to columns of stone.

With doors like these this fort was designed for giants and throughout our exploration we would find many just like these. The buildings within the fort were very large adobe structures very capable of housing at least 200 soldiers at all times. This is a brief tour as I take everyone on a walk into military history. I am sorry that it is kind of hard to hear me its not the best night-vision cam but it does its job. I hope in the future to give more tours like these to our viewers so that instead of talking about places I can show them to you rather.

The barracks within the fort have a front and a back door. They were where the soldiers lived and slept. There were no amenities except that you were thankful that you had shelter from the harsh elements.

Headquarters was a massive two story building where the officers would check in and operations were ran out of here. The ruins are quite extensive however the second story is missing thus all that remains are its windowless walls.

There were two stores one for the Quartermaster the other was a Subsistence Store. I found this area to be the most active such as ghostly footsteps things of that sort at this very location. The ruins are very large connecting to a few very large rooms. The stores sold products like honey and olives. The soldiers would be able to make a few extra purchases on base if they desired.

The hospital was a very majestic building that could house over a dozen men. It was a fact that accidents and sickness occurred thus they would come to the hospital to receive a cure. During the filming of this video I could hear nearly a dozen coyotes approaching the hospital. Without having anywhere to hide we would have to stand and fight if it came down to that. This hospital had very large rooms with very high ceilings it truly was one of the largest buildings on site.

On this part of the investigation we toured old rifle cannons and read some of the plaques dedicated to Fort Churchill. These cannons were state of the art unlike your standard ones which took giant iron balls. However there is nothing I cannot stand more then coming around the corning looking into a window and having something stare right back at ya! lol

At night approaching these gates is a whole other ballgame. The cemetery holds one of the earliest pioneers of the West Samuel Buckland. Although there is much history surrounding the Bucklands most of them met tragic ends which leads me to believe that this land surrounding his estate and fort may have been built on cursed land from the hatred for the white settlers who moved into the natives land.

Living in the west for some also meant doom. Life was never easy you had to grow your own food build wells and travel via horseback. These pioneers buried within this cemetery raised cattle, fruits, vegetables on the ranch which also provided a means for other pioneers to survive who traveled the Emigrant trail found in this region.

This is about as close as you can get to the Bucklands who's graves were damaged by vandals which we do not condone. The graves are wonderfully engraved as Samuel and Eliza Buckland and there children have taken up permanent residency here.

Prior to the fort being built an area was needed for a Blacksmith Shop and supply depot. Today this area is used to house the adobe bricks needed for restoration of the fort. Along these foundations is a set of lonely train tracks that separates Fort Churchill and the Maintenance Yard.

This station was built as a more permanent structure for the Buckland family. It served as a store, inn, horse watering station, stage coach stop and even a family home. Its a wonderful piece of architecture and today it is a museum as others can learn about the ranch. Surrounding the estate is remnants of the ranch which provided local miners with Veggies and Fruits. Something lurks amongst the older part of the ranch as at one time soldiers utilized Buckland Station from the fort itself.
