Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens also known as Hope cemetery is the largest burial grounds for Flagler County. Although the cemetery appears to be old with its giant rod iron gates and weathered stones on a hill it is not. The oldest stone is that of James Bruner who was a civil war soldier but his body is not in this cemetery records show but a stone is. Their is a section in the cemetery that appears to be of Jewish burials only and is fenced in as well. Then back by the woods of the cemetery is an area with piles of grave stones and debris. The majority of burials within the cemetery are men roughly 18 to 19 years of age. I found this to be quite odd but on the other hand Flagler Palm Coast area is fairly new as most people did not start settling into the area till the earlier 1900s. Jasmine one of our investigators has family buried here she told me she always feels odd when she is here. I do have to her agree with her here its a very odd feeling cemetery like something is unfitting. Maybe its just the fact that the funeral home is located within the cemetery or perhaps it is a fact that some bodies have been moved here from other cemeteries in Flagler. Their are 3 Mausoleums within the cemetery and in my opinion there is definitely some ghost activity here especially back by an old pile of gravestones. © By Rick-AngelOfThyNight |
