Dummett Sugar Mill Ruins
This place to me seemed a little more foreboding. There was this set of ruins sitting in the middle of the woods surrounded by a fence all the way around. Right away we got out of the truck and walked along the fence trying to take a few photos. By looking threw the fence you could see wells, high brush, chimneys and a stairwell. The place looked like a factory made out of stone.
Eventually I made my way to the ruins and I was walking and stepped almost into a well that would have not been good. I perhaps was one inch away from a nice sugar mill bath. I then walked around it and stepped right up on to some coquina stone blocks. The height of the chimneys were really amazing. Then there was this other little tunnel that I was checking out. There did not seem to be alot of activity here but on the other hand I did not feel alone walking around the ruins a few times.
After spending some amount of time at the ruins I did hear something following me along the fence but whatever it was stayed in the woods. Were the ghostly footsteps its quite possible. It started to perhaps bother me because it seemed heavier and i looked with the spotlight seen nothing even more so it did not scare whatever it was away.
Eventually after taking some more photos we headed off to our next destination. The one thing also that happened is that my 35mm was not working. I
tried changing batteries etc and then realized that the film in the camera was missing. I have no idea how this is possible after all I was able to take one photo in the Tomb Park. So I am still dumbfounded on what happened from there to here. So I ended up putting a new roll in to use at future
destinations once we headed on off to our 3rd place. We now headed off to the Harwood Coquina House & The Fairchild Oak.
