The Maxwell & Irene Dixon Johnson Cultural Park
exist in a section of town that is fairly higher in crime but was
installed here to bring various cultural events to the local community.
The park is fairly new and is phase 3 of a ongoing project which now is
complete. The purpose of the park was to honor the achievements of local
and nations African American Artist, Musicians and leaders. But the goal
is to help educate, celebrate and install pride into the community. But it
is also to showcase for children and is used for various religious type of
events. Across the street is the museum which was built and part of this
project.
The park is not in the nicest section of town and perhaps what caught my interest in the amphitheatre. I felt there would be some level of activity here though only because of what the park stands for. As much history is covered here, events, various people visiting such as leaders, speakers etc. I was lucky enough to bring a story on this place since the park has high rod iron bars around it and also due to the fact that many locals try and cause me troubles in the area. But the park is brand new and its pretty interesting just to stand on stage pretend like your talking to everybody when actually your only talking to the dead here. But I did speak and said I have a dream that every ghost will be accepted by every man ha. On a more serious note I thought it would make an interesting little story and of course nothing beats a haunted Amphitheatre. Well besides a haunted house or two lol but this place still to me is very unique. © By Rick-AngelOfThyNight |
