Deland Elks Lodge 1463 is one of the more prestigious ones in the Volusia country district. I actually do not have alot of history however the Spanish Art Stucco style and look alone is enough to make any paranormal investigator want to check it out. Of course being that Deland is a old town with a lot of ghost stories there is no reason why the Elks Lodge cannot be haunted as well. One can only imagine feelings of being watched from the windows here or dark stairwells. Unlike many structures in Florida this one has a basement quite rare in Deland to see this so we know the building itself is quite old.

I investigated this place accidentally actually. I was out walking checking out some other places and walked past this and felt a need to walk around and take some photos. There are some places that just call out to you. I found this place to be very haunted but also at night quite eerie. As there is a shelter in back, a field with these giant willow trees and then the lodge is covered by thick brush so at night it is very dark.

The ghost I found here are quite cautious but yet active and I believe they are ghost of older people which would explain a lot of things since many of the members are older and some of them who have been members here passed on because I did look it up. But a lot of the ghost here stay near the trees and watch carefully perhaps out of curiosity but I did notice them to only be in certain areas of the Elks Lodge. Particularly a very eerie hill out back perhaps at one time it was used as some kind of potters field that was my take on it. There is not many areas here in Deland with vast fields.

This Elks Lodge is known for its youth camp and Elks Softball team and they only meet twice a month so really its pretty quiet here most of the time. The elk over the door is quite inviting. But much mystery remains surrounding the property such as do the members haunt this place? What happened on the land behind it were people buried here at one time? Did a farming community exist here? Did a battle occur here? Just lots of unanswered questions remain here.
