Chautauqua Bell Steamboat
This truly was a nice little touch to our adventurous evening. We drove around the lake and found this elegant steam boat. The snow as pretty high here and of course there was many snowmobiles out and about. If I was cold I can only imagine how they felt. It was very cold here since we were right near the water.
We walked up to the steamship. I was just so excited but also trying to figure away to board it like a pirate. About 2 minutes later I boarded it lol it was a pretty high climb to get on board but It would not be fun unless I was able to show you the ghost that walk its
decks so that made it all the more worthwhile. So Mark took perimeter shots while I walked on
board its decks.
In the flash I seen ectoplasm on board so I knew something was here. The steamboat is not very large so mainly I walked around the lower deck first checked out the gauges, old steam engine, and in the back the giant paddle wheel.
Then I worked my way up to the upper deck took a photo of Mark way down below he did not even know half of the time I was up there watching him seeing how aware he is while investigating. Sorry Mark lol. But the upper deck seemed is where alot of the activity was. I then came across the 3rd deck actually the cabin and control area of course it was locked no big deal though. I explored the steam boat decks a few times walked around just managed to get a feel for the area. I felt watched near the steam engine as well it was dark down there and all you could see were 2 pitch black aisles running along the engine.
Finally it was time for me to end the fun of playing a pirate and I jumped off the deck lol or walked the plank rather. Hey and still live to tell about how about that. I took a few perimeter shots and noticed
a lot of ectoplasm still on them decks from afar. It seems like whatever is here tends to stay right on board the ship or near it. But we took a few nice photos so we could show you what we are talking about and then we said goodbye to 1 of the only
a few steamboats remaining west of the Mississippi. Then we headed off to Jacquin's
Pond & Bridge.
