My first exploration of the cemetery really revealed the fact that this would be a place we would return to a few times. I was in Carson City touring some sites and we just finished off having breakfast at Dennys. Which I will say that the Denny's in Carson City has stellar service and everyone really does a great job getting the food out to you and with a friendly service. You do not get that in other parts of the country but Carson City is a different world in itself and that includes Lone Mtn. Cemetery.

When we entered the cemetery we immediately toured the historic section. It was a very chilly morning their was still snow up on the mountains and some of the trees were in bloom but not all. One grave I remember seeing was surrounded by dying red roses while another one had beautiful flowers growing all around it.

I did not come here my first time with the intent to investigate the paranormal my only intent was to learn a bit about this locations history. I do have plans on returning with a much larger team although I may decide just to do this place by myself some night so I can get better apparition photos. I have not decided just yet.

Many of the graves date back to the 1800s some of the wrought iron is very elaborate and that goes with allot of the stones as well. You can clearly see that the gravestones and epitaphs are works of art. This however goes with the fact that as many nice stones as there are here there are also stones with no markings at all.

We toured various sections which included the Masons, Veterans, Oddfellows and Catholics just to name a few. I wanted to get a better overview of the cemetery so I took the truck and I offroaded to the top of Lone Mtn. I stood above the entire cemetery and you can see a photo on our main page. Its not a very large mountain and on the other side of it are brand new housing communities.

Most of the roads within the cemetery are made of dirt so the cemetery still has that old fashioned feeling to it. Speaking of roads Tammy seen a giant rat cross the road in broad daylight. She said it was almost the size of a cat and so where there is one there is probably many. So I am not sure how I am going to feel about wandering this place at night as rats might be living in the crypts or under some of the plots here. So I probably wont set out a picnic blanket under the stars but as far as EVPs and photos there is hundreds of areas we can work with on our next investigation we do.

I didnt feel anything out of the ordinary here and I did visit the civil war monument which was moved since the 1970s. Other then that much more remains to be seen and I am rather excited about my return visit when we can bring on in some equipment and try to find out if ghost like Mark Twain really haunt this place or just a rat scurrying down the road.
