The Blue Spring Tracks our owned by CSX freight transportation however like most tracks these ones cut through the heart of the Blue Springs area which over 100 years ago were of great importance as trains transported food, colonist, etc into the Orange City area. I believe about two miles of track at first were laid out to provide settlers in Orange City a way to transport goods from a store to the Thursby Wharf. The trains were operated using a Mule and at the time the tracks were called the W.W. West. As this train track became more in use the need for Steamboats near Blue Springs no longer became a dire necessity. So the tracks are over a century old and many prominent folks had traveled on them I am sure one time or another such as John Stetson for example. But there is more to this investigation then an old set of train tracks back in the woods. There is a little place called the Magnolia House which is very well hidden from the trains or public view which makes it all the more eerie.

Of course there are many stories back on these tracks such as a couple of kids who committed suicide and were killed by a freight train but the one that stands out the most is about that of an old man who stands on the tracks. Although we did not see him there is alot of anxiety back on these tracks. Rumor has it that the old man that haunts the tracks once lived in the Magnolia House which was built probably over 50 years ago. Strangely enough the house is very secluded and a houseboat also sits next to it one that perhaps is more then sixty years old even as it looks more like an old wood box with a few windows.

Rumor has it that the old man had over dosed on pills and those that visit the house will often seem him standing in the doorway or feel alot of unwanted cold feelings when they are back in this area. Strangely enough to me the house looks like it was built by a hobo since the entire house is more like a wood shack built with simple materials. But strangely enough the sink, end table, bed all still remain in the house. But I do believe there once was a building that also stood here perhaps the old man ran a business of some kind. Proof of this would be the stone blocks we found and things such as a refrigerator an old freight train engine which was mangled and missing its wheels. So there is alot of history here but it also is obvious that whoever lived back here wanted to be left alone and those feelings today still remain. But still there is very eerie feelings back here and in my opinion this is another dangerous area as the foliage is very thick full of snakes and thorns. But we managed to find this based on being very thorough and in a way it felt like we were walking around some sort of ghost town.

It is still apparent many party near the railroad bridge as we found beer bottles and spray paint not a surprise to us; however perhaps what is even more a surprise is one question we must raise....that is the fact if the Florida Sasquatch roams the woods surrounding the tracks. Being one of our members sited one walking that direction it is apparent that I wanted to cut it off at the tracks. As much as I believe there are ghost back here near the house and tracks I do believe there is a much more paranormal to the area itself. With the woods, hills, no houses, strange smells and movement in the area it is apparent that something strange is amidst this area. Long even before the train tracks were built here the Timucuan Indians once hunted and lived off these lands.
