Amador Stonehenge exist in a place called Gold Country which spans the eastern edge of the foothills. One of the first gold mines was established near what I call the old western Stonehenge of the continental United States. I prefer to keep the location more hidden then most since it does sit back off the road and is one of those places you take that someone special to just to reflect. Its a mystical place and nearby is a historic town which has a very metaphysical feeling to it. I only felt such a feeling like this in Cassadaga Florida a spiritualist town for psychics and leylines. 

I believe this area also sits on a leyline which makes it a very unique location with its ruins nearby, haunting historical homes and dismal hills. Most of the houses sit on steep hills or down dirt roads. The creek runs near by back then in the 1800s gold was discovered in the creek thus the white man came to the area in 1848 and built the town by 1852. Two mines were built in the area one of them cashing in on millions of dollars worth of gold one of the most profitable in all of gold country. It was the first mine in this region lots of hidden paranormal hotspots in this region.

You will not find a Burger King here or a supermarket. The town nearby consist of a little general store, antique shops, a small museum, historic hotel and cozy little restaurants. If anything the population in the area is under 100 with over 20 wineries nearby including a nice cemetery in a valley nearby. Whether the site was used by the Native Americans, Pagans or was designed for entertainment you only see sites like this in best kept secrets. 

I do not know if the site is ancient the rocks are all symmetrical it almost looks like someone made this site for fun or as an attraction. Perhaps what is more fun is uncovering the mystery to who built it rather then what purpose it serves.

The town that the Stonehenge sits near is my favorite town in all of California. People asked me why I wanted to live here I gave them the answer that it was a path to peace. Its a place where one can sit on there wood porch admire a sunset and reflect on the history to the area. I mean its a real picturesque place the homes are all made of wood and large. The town looks the same way it did in the 1800s. It was mined till 1942 and when the mining stopped the town almost became deserted. 

Perhaps the Native American people designed this site maybe it served as a place of rituals. But after seeing this site...just a few days later a lady showed me an townhouse which sat at one of the tallest points overlooking Stonehenge and the entire town. My downfall started to occur in California around this time as I was told she would rent to me and that is when the lies began. The owner would not come and collect the money, she called me weeks later asked if I wanted the place I said yeah and again started playing games... housing was rare in the area since it was a secluded area and I spent all my money at hotels in hopes of setting up our society here. 

What would be more then perfect then to live near the Stonehenge of the American West? Perhaps some mystery will always remain in this dismal region in the hills!
